1. Diesel Electric Multiple Unit( DEMU)-Train:
Union Railway minister Suresh Prabhu with Kerala Power Minister Aryadan Muhammed, K V Thomas, MP, and Hybi Eden, Congress MLA flagged off India’s first diesel electric multiple unit (DEMU) train service , as Angamaly-Ernakulam-Tripunithura-Piravom train which is expected to help in reducing traffic congestion in the state’s fastest growing city.

4. ‘World Crafts City’:
Jaipur is accredited with the title ‘World Crafts City’ by the World Crafts Council (WCC).
WCC shortlisted two cities from India. One Mamallapuram, near Chennai for stone carving and the other one was Jaipur for its crafts. And finally selected Jaipur as the World’s Crafts City.
